08-09 SP Rookie Threads Box Break (2nd)

The itch to open basketball boxes is becoming unbearable again so I decided to buy unopened basketball boxes from Dave and Adam's Card World last November 3. The package arrived two weeks later on November 19.

Here's my 08-09 SP Rookie Threads Basketball box break. This is actually my second box break of this product after last July's 08-09 SP Rookie Threads box break.

A box of 08-09 SP Rookie Threads contains 6 packs. Each pack contains 5 cards.

The itch to open basketball boxes is becoming unbearable again so I decided to buy unopened basketball boxes from Dave and Adam's Card World last November 3. The package arrived two weeks later on November 19.

Here's my 08-09 SPx Basketball box break. This is actually my second box break of this product after last July's 08-09 SPx box break.

A box of 08-09 SPx contains 10 packs. Each pack contains 3 cards. Each is guaranteed to contain one autograph or memorabilia card.

These are what I got:

I got base cards of Kobe Bryant, Lebron, Shaquille O'Neal and Tim Duncan among others. The whole base set is composed of 60 cards. With what I got in my first break, I now lack only 20 cards to complete the set.

I was so disappointed with the Duncan patch. Yes it's a patch because the back says so.

This is the worst patch I have pulled because there's only a small stitch in the corner. It's a patch? Yeah right.

I think the two rookie cards saved this box.

Four Basketball Boxes From Dave and Adam's Card World

Last December 2009, I bought six unopened basketball boxes at Dave and Adam's Card World through their website.

It was my first time to buy from them and I was shocked when a UPS agent emailed me that I have to pay customs tax in the amount of around $110 before they will deliver the package to me.

After that incident, I vowed never to buy boxes from them anymore.

However, it seems the itch to bust some boxes is getting to me that I decided to browse their site again for some offers.

It also helped that some members of the nbacardsph forum offered me some advice on how to circumvent that exorbitant customs tax. You can read the thread here.

I ordered the boxes on July 1, 2010 with a request to label my package as a gift and shipping through USPS instead of UPS.

On July 15, a claim slip from the post office arrived and I was glad that the tax is only P35 or around .75 cents.

Of course I was very happy.
